Mental Health and Wellness - Whole Child Approach

The Wellness Room at Cypress High School is a dedicated space designed to support the mental, emotional, and social well-being of every student. Located on campus, the room provides a calm, welcoming environment where students can take a brief break from the demands of the school day, practice healthy coping strategies, and reconnect with the resources they need to succeed. Whether a student is feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or simply needs a quiet moment to reset, the Wellness Room offers a safe place to pause and return to class ready to learn.
Staffed by the school's counseling team and mental health professionals in partnership with Waymakers, the Wellness Room reflects Cypress High School's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive campus community. Students can access a variety of wellness tools and activities, including mindfulness exercises, coloring, puzzles, sensory items, aromatherapy, and other calming techniques that encourage self-regulation and resilience. By promoting mental wellness alongside academic achievement, the Wellness Room empowers students to care for their emotional health while fostering a culture where seeking support is encouraged and valued.
